President Trump just put another stake through the heart of the biggest political scandal in modern American history. On Truth Social, he highlighted the bombshell CIA tradecraft review that proves the Obama-era Intelligence Community Assessment on 2016 Russian election interference was corrupted from the start — deliberately twisted by then-CIA Director John Brennan, with heavy fingerprints from FBI Director James Comey and DNI James Clapper.
Brennan overrode the CIA’s own senior Russia experts to force the inclusion of the discredited Steele dossier. Those career analysts warned it failed even the most basic tradecraft standards and risked destroying the credibility of the entire product. Brennan didn’t care. He preferred the narrative that “rang true.” The review, ordered by current CIA Director John Ratcliffe and conducted by career professionals, called the process “atypical,” “chaotic,” and marked by excessive senior involvement that stifled debate — all rushed out before Trump could take office.
This was never serious intelligence work. It was a political weapon.
The Fabricated Collusion Narrative
The Steele dossier was opposition research paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC through Fusion GPS. It was garbage — unverified, salacious, and later shredded by its own primary source, Igor Danchenko. Yet the Obama intelligence apparatus treated it as gold.
Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation exposed the rot. The FBI opened Crossfire Hurricane on the thinnest of predication, ignored exculpatory evidence, and used the dossier to obtain FISA warrants to spy on Carter Page and, by extension, the Trump campaign. Durham found no actual evidence of collusion at the start of the probe. The bureau applied a completely different standard when intelligence pointed toward the Clinton campaign manufacturing a Russia scandal to smear Trump.
That Clinton plan intelligence arrived in late July 2016. Brennan personally briefed President Obama, Vice President Biden, Clapper, and Comey on it in early August. The FBI did almost nothing with it. Instead, they barreled ahead with the Trump-Russia narrative. The newly declassified Durham annex and other releases only reinforce what conservatives have said for years: the intelligence community knew the Clinton side was cooking up a dirty trick and looked the other way.
Trump called it correctly from day one. On Truth Social and X he has repeatedly labeled it the “Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” a “Witch Hunt,” and “the biggest scandal in American History.” He has demanded accountability for the perpetrators and noted how the fabricated cloud hampered his ability to deal with Russia in his first term. The Mueller report found no conspiracy or coordination. Durham found the FBI should never have launched a full investigation. The CIA’s own internal review now admits the key assessment was undermined by political pressure and the dossier.
Yet the media, Democrats, and permanent bureaucracy spent years treating the collusion fantasy as settled fact. They got Pulitzers. They got ratings. They got to cripple a presidency.
Will Brennan, Comey, Clapper — or Obama — Ever See Justice?
Here is the hard truth from a Whatfinger perspective: the Deep State protects its own. Brennan is under active DOJ scrutiny for potential false statements to Congress and his role in the corrupted assessment. FBI agents have interviewed CIA officers about the process. There have been referrals. That is more movement than we saw under previous administrations.
But real justice — handcuffs, trials, prison time — faces enormous obstacles. Statutes of limitations are ticking. Venue in Washington, D.C., or certain federal courts is hostile. Career prosecutors and judges who spent years defending the narrative will not suddenly discover courage. Obama remains insulated by the political class; going after a former president for directing or enabling this would require institutional courage that the permanent government has never shown.
Trump’s second term has opened a window. Ratcliffe, Gabbard, and others have declassified material that previous gatekeepers buried. Public pressure is higher than ever. Partial accountability against Brennan or Comey is possible if the administration stays focused and refuses to blink. Full justice against the entire apparatus, including the man who ordered the rushed ICA, is far less likely. The system is designed to absorb scandals, issue carefully worded reports, and move on.
The Russia collusion hoax was a multi-year assault on the democratic process itself. It used the intelligence community and law enforcement as political weapons against a political opponent. Americans saw their institutions lie, leak, and target. Trust was shattered. That damage does not heal with another memo.
The facts are no longer in serious dispute among those willing to look. The only remaining question is whether anyone with real power will finally enforce consequences — or whether the Deep State once again walks free while ordinary citizens are told to “trust the institutions.”
