The Revolving Door of Justice: Soft-on-Crime Judges Keep Freeing Predators to Prey on Women
We don’t have to live like this.
That’s the frustrated cry from Matt Van Swol’s recent video (above) digging into the court records of Lashawa Doyle, the 30-year-old man arrested in Savannah, Georgia, for allegedly attempting to rape a woman in a public restroom at Daffin Park. What Van Swol found should enrage every American who still believes women deserve to walk into a park bathroom without becoming a victim of the justice system’s failures.
On August 6, 2026, Doyle allegedly forced his way into a restroom, attacked a woman, and was stopped only because city workers heard the struggle and alerted an off-duty officer nearby. That officer chased him down. Doyle now faces charges including criminal attempt to commit a felony, aggravated sexual battery, false imprisonment, and public indecency. The victim was treated for minor injuries. She was lucky. Many are not.
Here’s the part that should make your blood boil: Doyle had been released from jail just 17 days earlier. This was his eighth arrest in 2026 alone and his 22nd since 2020. His rap sheet includes battery, public indecency, criminal trespass, and more. In February he allegedly beat a woman in the face at a bus stop. In June he was caught exposing himself near SCAD student housing—for the second time. Over and over, the system shrugged.
Judge Claire Williams repeatedly handed this man the softest possible treatment—suspended sentences, credit for time already served, and releases on his own recognizance. In his last 15 arrests, he essentially walked. Prosecutors apparently never bothered to file motions to revoke those suspended sentences even as the arrests piled up. The result? A serial nuisance and potential predator kept cycling back onto the streets of Savannah to target women.
This is not an isolated Savannah problem. It is the predictable fruit of a justice system that has been systematically softened by progressive ideology, cashless bail experiments, and judges more worried about “equity” for the offender than safety for the rest of us.
Look at Charlotte, North Carolina. In August 2025, 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was stabbed to death from behind on a light rail train by Decarlos Brown Jr., a man with at least 14 prior arrests including armed robbery and assault. He had been released repeatedly despite a long record and known mental health issues. Another young woman dead because the system decided the career criminal deserved yet another chance.
In Chicago, Lawrence Reed—arrested 13 times since 2017 with a history of battery, assault, and arson going back decades—was free when he allegedly doused a woman with gasoline on a Blue Line train and set her on fire. A judge had released him over prosecutors’ objections after he battered a social worker.

New York under soft-on-crime district attorneys has turned into a revolving door factory. Offenders with 50, 100, even 134 prior arrests keep getting released only to attack again on subways and streets. Illinois’ SAFE-T Act cashless bail experiment produced the same pattern: violent suspects freed, only to commit new violence days later.
The pattern is national. A homeless man with a rap sheet the length of a novel keeps getting free passes until he tries to rape a woman in a park. A repeat offender with a documented history of violence walks free until he stabs a refugee on a train. Career criminals with dozens of arrests are treated like first-time jaywalkers. And the people paying the price are disproportionately women just trying to go about their lives.
Leftist Judges, Governors, and Mayors Keep Releasing Career Criminals to Rape, Burn, and Murder Americans — Time for Real Accountability
Judges and prosecutors who enable this are not being “compassionate.” They are gambling with other people’s safety—especially women’s safety—and the house always loses. When a man has 22 arrests and keeps walking, the problem is not a lack of “resources” or “root causes.” The problem is a system that has abandoned the basic duty of government: protect the innocent from the guilty.
We are told we must tolerate this in the name of reform. We are told that locking up repeat predators is somehow the real injustice. Tell that to the woman screaming in a Savannah restroom. Tell that to Iryna Zarutska’s family. Tell that to every woman who now second-guesses using a public bathroom or riding public transit after dark.
Enough. Voters in every city and county need to start treating soft-on-crime judges and district attorneys the way they treat any other public failure. Demand records. Demand accountability. Support legislation that ends the revolving door for violent and sexual offenders. And stop pretending that “second chances” for men with 20 prior arrests somehow outweighs the right of women not to be assaulted.
Matt Van Swol is right. We don’t have to live like this. The only question is whether enough Americans are finally angry enough to stop the people who keep forcing us to.
