Enes Freedom Just Dropped the Gloves on the WNBA — Biological Reality Is Not Optional

Enes Kanter Freedom has already paid more for the truth than most people will ever risk. Nearly 14 years without seeing his family. Arrest warrants and death threats from the Turkish regime. Cut from the NBA at 29 after speaking out against China, Iran, and every other system that crushes dissent. Roughly $50 million in career earnings left on the table. He changed his name to Freedom when he became an American citizen because the word meant something to him that it no longer means to a lot of people who grew up taking it for granted.

Now the same man is walking into the WNBA’s living room and flipping the table.

In a recent appearance on Fox News (scroll down for clip) with Lara Trump, Freedom laid it out without the usual hedging. Freedom is not free. It requires sacrifice. He sits kids down at his basketball camps and tells them how fragile this country is and how many of them are being brainwashed by TikTok. When teammates used to complain about America, he offered to buy them first-class tickets to China, Russia, Iran, Turkey, or North Korea so they could experience the alternative. The same principle applies to women’s sports. Biological men do not belong in them. Period.

He called Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham exactly what she is: an American hero. Cunningham said the quiet part out loud — that she wants to protect young girls from competing against and sharing locker rooms with biological males. Polls show roughly 70 percent of Americans agree. Common sense is not left or right. It is just common sense. The backlash she received for stating biological reality is the same pressure that keeps most WNBA players silent.

Freedom is done with the silence.

Earlier this month he made it official. He declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft. Not because he suddenly discovered a new identity. Because the league’s own rules and the public statements of many of its players and coaches treat self-identification as the only requirement that matters. If simply declaring who you are is enough, then a 6-foot-10 former NBA center who has gone through male puberty meets every stated criterion. He and his team reviewed the collective bargaining agreement. “Only players who are women are eligible.” The document never defines the word. So Freedom is forcing the definition.

He is not alone. Former NBA player Royce White and several other pro and overseas players have signaled they are prepared to do the same if the league refuses to clarify. Freedom has publicly noted the financial incentive: G-League money versus top WNBA salaries. Rules are rules, he keeps repeating. If biology is irrelevant, then the separate leagues themselves become indefensible.

The campaign has escalated exactly as expected. Freedom posted workout clips under the banner “Let ‘The Transition’ begin.” He joked about dunking on Angel Reese and becoming the modern Kobe-and-Shaq duo with Caitlin Clark. He showed up courtside at the Indiana Fever–Chicago Sky game in Chicago wearing a black shirt that simply defined the word: “WOMAN noun. adult human female.” He supported Sophie Cunningham. Natasha Cloud, an outspoken progressive player, confronted him. Freedom was ejected.

His post afterward was pure Enes: “I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA!”

The league’s response has been the familiar one. Officials denounce “bad-faith efforts” and insist there are no immediate eligibility issues. That is the point. The absence of a clear biological standard is the vulnerability. When the rules rest on feelings and self-declaration, a man who has already lost everything for principle becomes the perfect stress test. Freedom has made clear he is not mocking anyone’s personal struggles. He is demanding that the rules the WNBA and its loudest voices claim to live by be applied consistently — or rewritten honestly.

This is the same fighter who refused to stay quiet about Uyghur camps, about Erdogan’s authoritarianism, and about the NBA’s willingness to genuflect to Beijing for money. He already knows the cost of speaking when powerful institutions prefer silence. The WNBA is simply the latest institution that has decided biological sex is negotiable when ideology demands it.

Parents of girls in youth sports are watching. Female athletes who trained their entire lives for fair competition are watching. So are the silent majority of WNBA players who know exactly what is at stake but calculate the professional price of saying it out loud. Freedom’s message to them is the same one he delivers to the kids at his camps: stand up. This is not complicated.

The league that markets itself as empowering women is now being forced to explain why a 6-foot-10 man who has lived as a man his entire life can claim eligibility under the current framework. Either the word “woman” still means something rooted in biology, or it doesn’t. Enes Freedom is making sure the question cannot be ignored.

God’s work. No regrets. The same phrase he uses about the rest of his life. The WNBA is about to find out what that looks like when it is aimed at them. The woke will always be defeated, as long as we can shine a light on their policies, so people see their deceit.

Remember the lie activists used? “How does same-gender marriage affect you?” Now they’re eliminating womens’ / girls’ rights, forcing them to allow males to go in bathrooms, locker rooms, sports teams, men to wear dresses and teach your children, claiming men can get pregnant and more.
