U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said a joint task force conducted a “lethal kinetic strike” on Sunday (August 23) against a low-profile vessel operating along alleged narcotics trafficking routes in the eastern Pacific Ocean.
SOUTHCOM said in an X post on Monday (August 24) that intelligence had confirmed the vessel’s involvement in drug trafficking and that two suspected “narco-terrorists” were killed in the operation.
