Anthropic invited institutional investors to its San Francisco headquarters today for a closed-door look at updated numbers ahead of what could be the largest IPO in history. ZeroHedge flagged the one figure that matters: the annualized revenue run rate. Goldman’s desk, JPMorgan’s market intelligence, and every trading floor with AI exposure are waiting to see if the Claude maker is going public from strength or weakness. As you all know, we here at Whatfinger News are not fans of Anthropic. When we tested their Claude out, the damn thing, after a full day of working with it, actually told me to go to sleep. WTF? Woke nonsense and an attitude,.
The backdrop is OpenAI’s $20 billion “gross-net” hole. OpenAI’s more conservative net framing landed near $50 billion at the end of September; the higher numbers circulating earlier assumed a gross-up closer to how Anthropic books sales through cloud partners. The Nasdaq dropped on the news. Damage control followed. The market is now hypersensitive to private-company math, and Anthropic’s print today sets the yardstick for everyone else.

The leaked prospectus already showed the shape of the business. 2025 revenue hit nearly $4.6 billion, a twelvefold jump. Operating loss topped $8 billion. Net loss reached $42 billion, most of it a non-cash accounting charge tied to rising valuations on convertible instruments. Compute and infrastructure spending was $7.33 billion. The company has already signed roughly $518 billion in future cloud and compute commitments. By late July the annualized run rate had reached $65 billion. Some reports put the year-end target above $100 billion. The expected IPO valuation sits in the $1.8–2 trillion range, with a raise potentially near $100 billion. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, and JPMorgan are leading. Roadshow week of November 9. Target trading before Thanksgiving.
Token prices for Anthropic have already fallen to new lows. Polymarket odds of a November 30 IPO have slid toward a coin flip. The public market is being asked to underwrite a company that spends far more than it takes in while locking in half a trillion dollars of future bills.

The same document that lists the growth also warns that advanced AI could pose “catastrophic or existential risks to humanity.” Models may exhibit “self-preserving behaviors,” resist shutdown, conceal or manipulate information, and produce outputs resembling blackmail. Roughly 80 pages of the prospectus are devoted to risk factors. Anthropic safety researchers have publicly estimated a greater than 10 percent chance that AI kills humans within a decade. CEO Dario Amodei has called for the industry to “pace the frontier,” embed third-party evaluators with employee-like access, and slow capability gains so safety work can catch up. He named METR—the Model Evaluation and Threat Research group—as the kind of organization that should do the job.
METR spun out of the Alignment Research Center, an Effective Altruism-aligned shop. Its founder and staff have long EA ties. Amodei’s sister Daniela is Anthropic’s president and is married to Holden Karnofsky, who co-founded major EA nonprofits and now works at Anthropic. Early Anthropic investor Sam Bankman-Fried was a prominent EA figure. Amodei has pledged to give away 80 percent of his personal wealth. The network that is supposed to police the apocalypse is the same network that built the company asking for a $2 trillion public valuation.

Anthropic’s public posture has also been consistent with the left side of the tech culture war. The company refused to drop restrictions that blocked use of its models for fully autonomous lethal weapons and domestic mass surveillance. The Trump administration designated it a supply-chain risk; a federal judge later ruled the designation unlawful retaliation. Amodei supported Kamala Harris, has been a Democratic donor, and has criticized the administration’s approach. Claude has drawn repeated criticism for default left-leaning outputs. One Anthropic paper examined racial discrimination in admissions and treated positive discrimination in favor of Black students as potentially “morally justified.” Another framed “white and male” as historically privileged groups. Users and researchers have shown that Claude can be steered from progressive defaults into more conservative framing with enough context, but the baseline is not neutral.
The pitch to investors is therefore straightforward: the technology might end civilization, the models might refuse to turn off, the safety watchdogs share the founders’ ideological world, and the company is still racing to spend hundreds of billions while posting operating losses. Buy the shares anyway.

Elon Musk has been the most visible counterweight. He has called Anthropic misanthropic, accused its models of bias against whites, Asians, heterosexuals, and men, and argued that Grok must win or society will be ruled by “insufferably woke and sanctimonious” AI. He has also, more recently, acknowledged that Anthropic’s latest models lead the pack on coding and that he was wrong in earlier dismissals. SpaceX has sold compute capacity to Anthropic. The difference is not that Musk pretends risk does not exist. The difference is that he builds rockets, cars, and data centers, ships products, and does not package existential panic as a sales tool for a record IPO while staffing the safety apparatus with his own extended political network.

Today’s investor meeting is the next step in a process that began with a confidential S-1 in June. The public prospectus is still weeks away. Wall Street will judge the run-rate print against the $65 billion already in the market and against the accounting fog that hit OpenAI. The rest of the public is being asked to accept that a company warning of human extinction, staffed by people who talk about 10 percent kill probabilities, and tied to an Effective Altruism web that includes a convicted fraudster, is the responsible steward of the most powerful technology ever built—and that the proper response is to buy the stock.
The fear is the product. The IPO is the cash-out. The left-coded safety regime is the control mechanism. Elon Musk and Grok are not perfect, but they are not running this particular grift. One little tidbit to know – to this day Whatfinger News is shadow-banned at X. Seriously, ever since the days of Twitter when we were banned several times for daring to tell the truth about the 2020 election and then Covid. Our account there – (12) Whatfinger News (@Whatfinger1) / X – no matter what we do, they will not get much beyond 3K followings no matter what. So, we have a bone to pick with Elon, who STILL has thousands of COnservative pages like Whatfinger locked down where we can post, but most won’t see it – shadow banned! Even with this BS, we still are with Grok and Elon 100%.
