Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez built her brand by attacking the Democratic establishment. Now a Wall Street Journal report, discussed on Fox Business, says she has stopped backing primary challengers to incumbents, raised more than $37 million for the party, started working with Republicans, and distanced herself from the Democratic Socialists of America’s platform. Her favorability sits at 72 percent among Democrats and just 26 percent among independents. The gap explains the timing.
She rejoined DSA in August after a seven-year lapse. The organization publicly confirmed her status as a member in good standing precisely because chapters and members are already organizing to draft her as a 2028 presidential candidate. DSA said the membership details mattered for those internal discussions. The Bread & Roses caucus just voted to join efforts encouraging her to run and to support a formal DSA endorsement. Their published call treats an AOC presidential campaign as a historic chance to grow the socialist movement, organize students and labor, and put democratic socialist demands—Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, blocking military aid to Israel, the PRO Act—on the national stage. In a September New York Times interview she discussed the “unique political window,” the role of her gender and ethnicity in electability calculations, and that “life doesn’t wait for you to be ready.” She is weighing the White House or the Senate seat.
Hard-line factions inside DSA already call her an opportunist. The Liberation Caucus, which describes itself as Marxist-Leninist-Maoist, rejected any push to make her the socialist standard-bearer. They accused her of retreating from socialist politics on Palestine and policing once the language stopped being useful, and of treating the 2020 “Woke 1” period as an embarrassment after she rode it to Congress. They said a clear answer to an AOC presidential campaign should be no. DSA as a whole has still grown past 100,000 members, with New York City alone adding thousands recently amid primary wins for aligned candidates.

On the trail, her campaign has spent roughly $47,000 on 45 luxury and upscale hotel stays since April, according to Federal Election Commission filings reviewed by the New York Post—boutique properties with spas and rooftop bars in Memphis, Atlanta, Chicago, and Manhattan. Critics labeled it champagne-communist travel while she rails against the rich.
The rebrand trims the rhetoric for independents and establishment Democrats. The project remains the same. DSA’s major caucuses are already scaffolding a presidential campaign to expand the socialist movement. AOC has not closed the door. The Democratic Party and much of the media are prepared to amplify whatever version she offers next. Don’t laugh her off. With the power of the Deep State behind her, coupled with the Democrat Party and their associated Marxist groups, and millions of fake votes. She can win. We can actually have a President AOC in 2029, and America will fall. Revolution is a certainty, and since millions will not give up their right to bear arms, this is going to be bloody if she is not defeated in the election.
