On October 15, severe flash flooding in Midland, Texas, forced motorists to abandon their stranded vehicles as water levels rose to waist-high within minutes. Captured on video by Calvin Ford, the sudden deluge overwhelmed local streets, prompting a bystander to rescue a woman and a child from a car shortly before it floated away. Amid widespread road closures, the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the region.
