You can already buy a robot that mows the yard, empties the litter box, and maps the kitchen. You cannot yet buy the one Elon Musk keeps promising will babysit, walk the dog, and cost less than a used Civic. Robots of Dawn is the Whatfinger News desk that keeps those two facts in the same room.
The name comes from Isaac Asimov’s 1983 novel. The page is ours. We are not the estate, and we are not Tesla, Figure, or Unitree. We are the readers who want the price, the ship date, and the clip where the CEO says the quiet part on a stage.
Start here: https://dedicatedissues.com/robotsofdawn/

Who ships, who takes a deposit, who is still in the factory
The hub opens with three cards, because the press releases all sound the same until you ask one question. Can you put it in a cart?
Unitree’s G1 ships. About $13,500 to $16,000. It walks. It is a developer machine, not a maid. 1X NEO is the home humanoid taking money now, about $20,000 or $499 a month, with a late-2026 delivery target from Bernt Børnich. Optimus and Figure stay inside the plants. Tesla bills the future. Figure bills BMW by the hour.
Musk has been on this number since AI Day 2022. Under $20,000, then $20,000 to $30,000 at scale, then the Nov. 26, 2024 post where he admitted the $20,000 cost is immensely difficult unless they clear a million units a year. At Davos in January 2026 he pointed at public sales by the end of 2027, and only if reliability and safety are high enough that you can ask it to do anything. We dated the lines. The timeline moves. The quote stays.

Ten faces, not ten press releases
Every company on the desk gets a founder page. Three videos. Their words. Then X.
- Elon Musk — Optimus and Cybercab
- Brett Adcock — Figure, BMW hours, the Figure 04 jump
- Bernt Børnich — NEO, the soft-body home bet
- Wang Xingxing — Unitree, the one you can order
- Marc Raibert — Boston Dynamics, Atlas, the jumps everyone has already seen
- Jeff Cardenas — Apptronik and Apollo
- Peggy Johnson — Digit, already on a warehouse clock
- He Xiaopeng — XPENG IRON, the robot they cut open on stage
- David Reger — NEURA, Europe’s home lane
- Zhou Jian — UBTECH Walker, listed volume
If a CEO changes the price on a Tuesday, the page is where we park the old sentence next to the new one.

The Lot
Four doors off the hub. Luke, our technical genius first had the idea to create this expanding section.
Humanoids is the two-legged list only. Company site, 2026 plan, 2027 plan. No robot vacuums hiding in the grid.
Driveway is the unsupervised car. Cybercab against Waymo, Zoox, Baidu’s Apollo Go, Pony.ai, WeRide, Avride, and May Mobility. Waymo will take your fare today in a long list of U.S. cities. Cybercab is the one Tesla wants you to own. China is already billing the ride.
Robots You Can Buy Now is the Amazon aisle. Roomba, Roborock, Dreame, a lawn mower, a pool cleaner, a Litter-Robot, a Unitree if the listing is actually in stock. Every link carries our Amazon tag. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. The search stays live so a dead SKU does not kill the page.
The Laws puts Asimov’s three laws on top, then the mail that actually matters. CPSC. NHTSA, including the open file on a wheel-less Cybercab. The FCC Covered List that hit foreign-made robots in July 2026. CCPA. COPPA, because a home robot with a camera is a data collector with legs. Short on purpose. Links out. We are not your lawyer.

Why bother
The coverage everywhere else splits in two. Gadget blogs treat a $400 vacuum and a $20,000 humanoid as the same shopping story. Earnings calls treat the humanoid as a market-cap sermon. Robots of Dawn is the middle: who builds it, what they said, what you can buy this week, and which agency shows up if it films the kitchen or clips a pedestrian.
