In this lesson, we are going to dive into Jesus’ sharp message to the church of Thyatira in Revelation 2. We will see how Christ, with eyes of fire and feet of brass, judges any sin we allow to stick around in our lives. We’ll also look at the tragic illustration of Lot, who was saved but lost everything because he pitched his tent toward the worldly compromise of Sodom.
Are you actively feeding your flesh, or are you advancing in sanctification? I will share a memorable story of a youth group canoe trip to show how easily we float away from God when we stop paddling. In our lives, paddling means reading the Scriptures, praying, walking in the Spirit, and sharing the gospel. I’ll even take you inside a doctor’s office where, despite having an eye-examining device pressed against my painful eye, the Lord opened a magnificent door to share the gospel with a worried nurse.
Don’t face Jesus with shame at His coming. Let’s learn how to turn our canoes around and glorify God in our bodies. Grab your Bible, open your journal, and let’s master the Word together!
