Mount Etna on Sicily continued eruptive activity for the ninth consecutive day on Sunday, July 5, sending large ash clouds into the sky. The eruption began on June 26, producing lava flows and volcanic tremors that have persisted since. Europe’s largest active volcano last erupted more intensely on July 2, while Italy’s Civil Protection Department issued a red alert as a precaution to enhance monitoring and reduce risk at high altitudes.
