Mobile phone footage captured the dramatic rescue of Jofram Gallipolli and his family who were trapped beneath a collapsed apartment building in Venezuela’s La Guaira state following the June 24 earthquakes. The family of three survived by signaling rescuers from a small pocket beneath the rubble before being pulled to safety. The quakes killed nearly 2,000 people and injured more than 10,500 in one of Latin America’s deadliest disasters.
