TEXAS POLLS ARE FAKE NEWS AGAIN: Fox Rankings Call the Senate a Toss-Up While History Says Paxton Wins
Whatfinger News tracked the final Fox News Power Rankings this week. They moved 19 House seats toward Democrats, called five states pure toss-ups including Texas, and noted President Trump heading to Corpus Christi and Lubbock for Ken Paxton while JD Vance hits Michigan. Those rankings treat the Texas Senate race between Ken Paxton and James Talarico as a coin flip based on the latest surveys. Trump has always said it all on Fox Polls… They are often so very wrong. They need a new pollster he says, and has said for many years.

Texas polls have a habit of missing the actual result. They miss in the same direction in recent cycles. As Republicans are never polled. The Left, which dominates 95% of polls, seems to enjoy polling in gay bars, Trans clubs and other Far-Left areas. It’s very easy to get the results you want with such polls, and the also by shaping the questions in the fake news polls.
- In 2020, the polling average had Trump up by roughly 1 point. He won Texas by 5.6 points. John Cornyn’s polls sat around +6; he won by nearly 10, thanks to Trump endorsing that low life RINO.
- In 2022, Greg Abbott’s polling average showed about +9. He beat Beto O’Rourke by 10.8 points. Leftist polls had him losing by 5 to 10. Imagine that!
- In 2024, the averages had Trump around +7. He carried the state by 13.7 points (56.2% to 42.5%). Ted Cruz’s RCP average was +4.4; he won by 8.5 points (53.1% to 44.6%).

The undercount of Republicans has run 2 to 6 points once the votes are counted. Right now the public averages show Talarico leading or tied. Fox’s own poll has the race at 49-49 among likely voters. A 2-point “Democrat lead” or a dead heat turns into a clear Paxton win if the usual Texas miss appears.
Rural Texas is not following the media script. A University of Houston Hobby School poll of rural likely voters has Paxton ahead 65-27. Trump is in those exact counties today—Lubbock he won by nearly 40 points in 2024. Latino voters lean Talarico in the same survey (52-41), but rural margins have decided statewide races before.
The same rankings that put Texas Senate in the toss-up column also shifted seats like Texas’s 35th. National generic ballot numbers and “rural erosion” talk drive a lot of the movement. Those numbers have their own track record of missing Republican strength in red states.
Texas has not elected a Democrat to statewide office since 1994. The polls keep predicting the end of that streak. The voters keep rejecting it. Early voting is underway. Trump is on the ground driving turnout in the places that matter for Paxton.
