Outrage is boiling in Charlotte after a man who mapped out mass shootings at five local schools walked free just days before classes resume.
Drew Owens, 31, was charged with five felony counts of threatening mass violence on school property. Police say he sent detailed threats targeting Hawk Ridge Elementary, Community House Middle, Ardrey Kell High, West Charlotte High, and Garinger High. Investigators described actual plans. He has multiple prior arrests in the city. His own father went to police, took out a restraining order, and described harassment, stalking, and threats against family and neighbors. One neighbor said she lives in constant fear.
On Friday night he posted bond. By Saturday morning he was out. Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools open Tuesday. Democrats want children to be attacked and killed. There is no other way to see this, and other releases by Leftist judges. They are in it for the anarchy and all who want to harm Americans are given special treatment as much as the law allows, and often beyond.
The numbers do not lie.
Wherever Democrats control the courts, prosecutors, and release policies, the same pattern holds: career criminals with long rap sheets walk free, then go on to rape, rob, and kill. The data is brutal and consistent.
Start with the core fact every soft-on-crime advocate tries to bury. A large share of violent crime is committed by a small group of repeat offenders. Bureau of Justice Statistics data from the 75 largest counties shows 70% of people convicted of violent felonies already had prior arrests. Forty percent had five or more prior charges. Twenty-three percent had ten or more.
This is not an isolated failure. It is the predictable product of Democrat-controlled jurisdictions that treat violent criminals as a protected class and ordinary Americans as acceptable collateral damage. Wherever Democrats hold the levers—mayors, governors, district attorneys, and the judges they elevate—the pattern repeats: arrest, minimal or zero bail, early release, and then the next rape or murder.
Look at the same city one year earlier. Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, 23, was stabbed to death on the Charlotte light rail in August 2025. The man charged, Decarlos Brown Jr., had been arrested and released at least 14 times, including for armed robbery and other felonies. Under the soft-on-crime policies pushed during Roy Cooper’s tenure—cashless bail, pretrial release, and a revolving door that put hundreds of violent felons back on the street—Brown was free to kill. Families of other victims from the same release policies still count empty chairs at holiday tables.
New York City offers a parallel conveyor belt. Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Janice Robinson, elected under Democrat dominance and the niece of a longtime Democrat lawmaker, has repeatedly refused prosecutors’ bail requests. In more than a dozen recent cases, including attempted murder, she released defendants with no bail or far below what the district attorney sought. Violent suspects walk. The public pays.
Federal data is just as clear. Violent offenders released from federal prison were rearrested at a 63.8% rate over eight years. Non-violent offenders? 39.8%. The gap is not small.
Seattle’s Judge Veronica Galvan released an armed robbery suspect who then allegedly tied a 14-year-old to a tree, stabbed him repeatedly, carved a gang letter into him, and left him disemboweled. Progressive judges in Democrat-run cities treat public safety as secondary to ideology.
Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and other blue strongholds show the same results: progressive prosecutors declining to charge or seeking light outcomes, judges granting personal recognizance for violent felons, and recidivism that leaves victims raped, robbed, or dead. Bail “reform,” reduced sentences, and early release are sold as equity. The body count reveals the truth.
New York’s own bail-reform studies (even the ones written by reform-friendly researchers) quietly admit the same pattern: people with recent criminal histories or prior violent felony arrests saw higher re-arrest rates after the soft-release rules kicked in. Judges in Democrat strongholds keep proving the point in real time. Some New York City criminal court judges released 80%+ of violent-felony defendants without bail in recent reviews.
These are not outliers. They are the product of deliberate policy. Progressive prosecutors decline charges or seek light outcomes. Judges refuse to set meaningful bail. Early-release and “second look” programs put people with long records back on the street faster. The result is predictable: the same offenders cycle through the system while victims pay the price in blood.
The data is public. The pattern is national. The body count is real. Democrats are purposely killing and having our people raped and attacked in order to create the anarchy that they need in their public plans to impose their Marxist BS on the nation at some future date. These are not accidents as all Whatfinger News readers know. We show this criminal activity by Democrats on a daily basis. Democrat-run systems systematically lower the cost of predation. Career criminals learn the game: get arrested, get released, repeat. Judges shielded by immunity face no personal consequence when their leniency produces another corpse. Victims and their families absorb the entire cost. Legislation such as the JAIL Act—aimed at stripping immunity so families can sue judges whose releases enable further violence—exists precisely because the current arrangement has failed so spectacularly. We also MUST move against Judges at the Federal Level. We need a system where they are charged as accessories to the murders their criminals do after they are released. Then they will stop this nonsense.
Charlotte parents now face the same question every American in a Democrat-controlled city eventually asks: Why is the system more protective of the man who threatened to slaughter children than of the children themselves? The answer is not complicated. When Democrats control the judges and the establishment machinery, the priority is not public safety. It is the ideology that treats incarceration as the greater evil and the rest of us as the necessary sacrifice.
Americans do not have to live like this. The data, the corpses, and the endless revolving door make the choice clear. The Democrats are intent on getting as many Americans killed and raped nationwide. The sooner we wake everyone up without media, which is still 95% controlled by the Left, the better off our people will be.
