Flávio Bolsonaro has left Brazil for the U.S. after Lula’s police force and tyrant Supreme Court Justice ordered the seizure of his passport.
He was likely going to face arrest if he stayed.
They came after his father and sentenced him to 27 years, issued an arrest warrant for his brother Eduardo, and now they are coming after him for attempting to unseat Lula.

- Sunday night: Lula wins by roughly 4.4 million votes after a last-minute two-hour extension of polling ordered by a Lula-appointed justice.
- Monday: Moraes orders Flávio to surrender ordinary, diplomatic, and other passports within 24 hours, bars him from leaving Brazil, and ties the order to a sealed money-laundering investigation involving online betting platforms. Flávio denies the allegations.
- Tuesday: Deadline expires. Passports cancelled. Multiple sources (Reuters, AP, Brazilian outlets) report he and his family left anyway. U.S. State Department confirms visas will be issued. Reports point toward Florida. Some Brazilian sources close to the family describe it as protection from political persecution.
Lula did not wait to call the departure “shameful.” At his 81st birthday event he said the man who leaves his country hidden “must owe something or fear something,” and “who has nothing to hide has nothing to fear.” He contrasted it with his own past, when he stayed and turned himself in during earlier legal fights.
That is the public version. The operational version is the court order that landed hours after the loss, from the same justice who ran the father’s case. Flávio had already said he would challenge the result over the extended voting hours. Trump later called the election “another rigged election” and flagged the extension as strange, while saying he did not take sides and still likes Lula.
