- I can tell you the taxes aren’t low. South Carolina taxes anything that isn’t moving. Why my state needs a property tax for a 16ft aluminum boat and 15hp motor – about $400 per year – is beyond me. And believe me when I tell you the roads are absolute trash. – Jody W
