As the Lindsay Clancy triple-murder trial in Plymouth, Massachusetts, headed into closing arguments, a new viral account landed in the middle of an already ugly culture war: a woman claiming her boyfriend of four years “baited” her into an opinion on Clancy — then ended the relationship because he did not want children with someone who would treat a mother who strangled three kids as a mental-health victim first and a killer second.
Tim Pool covered the post Wednesday in a new Timcast video, Woman Furious After Getting DUMPED For Supporting Lindsay Clancy, and he did not mince words. He is with the boyfriend. Supporting Clancy, he argued, is not a “nuance” debate. It is a values test about children.
The woman’s account, posted under u/Proper_Associate_791 on Reddit’s TwoXChromosomes, tracks a familiar script now spreading across X. She said she had barely heard of the case. He introduced it, pressed her for a take, and she landed on the line many Clancy sympathizers use: if there was mental impairment, Clancy should be institutionalized and helped — not treated as a cold-blooded murderer. He asked whether he wanted kids with someone who thought that. Then the relationship was over. She later discovered men nationwide were using the case the same way.

That is the second high-profile “dumped over Clancy” story in days. On August 23, X user @VHSDVDBLURAY4K posted that his brother, two weeks from the altar, sent a group text to both families calling off the wedding after the fiancée said she supported Lindsay Clancy. The post exploded past 3.5 million views. Media outlets rushed to call it “unverified.” Pool’s earlier video on that claim was titled, bluntly, Man CANCELS WEDDING After Fiance Supports Lindsay Clancy, GOOD. He said he does not need a newsroom fact-check to understand why a man would walk. People end engagements over far smaller things. This is not smaller.
The crime is not in dispute. The excuse is.
On January 24, 2023, Lindsay Clancy — then a labor-and-delivery nurse in Duxbury — sent her husband Patrick out for takeout and medication. While he was gone, she took their children to the basement and strangled them with exercise bands: Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan, who died days later. She then cut herself and jumped from a second-story window. She survived, paralyzed from the waist down. She does not deny killing them. Her defense is lack of criminal responsibility: postpartum psychosis, overmedication, a system that failed her. Prosecutors say she planned it — maps, timing the husband’s errand, searches, a window with no witnesses. Testimony ended Wednesday. Closing arguments are Thursday. An FBI-linked psychiatrist told the jury she could still tell right from wrong.
That factual core has not stopped a movement. Women in pink gathered outside the courthouse with “She Needed Help” and “Peace for Lindsay” signs. TikTok filled with “Same, Lindsay” videos — mothers holding their own babies, crying, implying they understand why she did it. GoFundMe campaigns for Clancy’s parents and related funds have pulled in hundreds of thousands of dollars, with some reports putting combined totals near or past a million. Conspiracy corners decided Patrick must have done it, despite phone records and video placing him at CVS. There is no evidence for that. He has since divorced, remarried, and tried to rebuild a life. The children are still dead.

Men noticed. A lot of them walked.
Evita Duffy-Alfonso put the blunt version on X: men are breaking up with girlfriends who support Clancy, “and honestly, good for them. A Lindsay Clancy defender is not who you want as the mother of your own future children.” Michael Knowles called it a perfect compatibility test. LifeSite and others documented the same wave: wedding off, four-year relationship over, anecdotal claims that divorce lawyers were even hearing custody talk tied to a wife’s Clancy stance. The individual stories are hard to independently verify. The reaction is not. Millions of views. Thousands of men saying the same sentence: I will not build a family with a woman who looks at three strangled children and reaches for the slogan.
Pool’s point in today’s video is the one Whatfinger readers already know in their bones. Postpartum depression is real. Psychosis is rare. Most women who suffer after birth do not murder their kids. Empathy for a mother in crisis is not the same as treating the strangling of a five-year-old, a three-year-old, and a baby as a “system failure” that should wipe out criminal responsibility. If your partner’s first instinct is “Same, Lindsay,” that is information. Treat it that way.
