The U.S. Secret Service said it responded to an officer-involved shooting in Washington, D.C., where one person was shot by law enforcement and their condition remains unknown. In a statement posted on X, the agency said personnel were on scene near 15th Street and Independence Avenue. Deputy Director Matthew Quinn later said officers engaged a juvenile suspect and recovered a weapon during the incident. The White House was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution.
