Yes, you read that right. He pleaded guilty to intoxication manslaughter, and he’ll spend about six months in jail. On May 11th, 2025, Mother’s Day, Captain Marvin Taylor III’s wife gave birth to their fifth baby at an Austin hospital. Marvin left the hospital to go pick up his other children so they could meet their new sibling. He never made it. At 1:05AM, he was stopped at a red light on East Koenig Lane.
According to court records, that’s when a Dodge Durango came flying down the road and rear-ended his van at 103 MPH… the speed limit was 45. The crash sent Marvin’s van sliding 150 feet into a median. He passed away right there at the scene. The man who k*lled him is Rodney Bremby, he was completely drunk. He was booked on a $103,000 bond… and he bonded out within DAYS. In August, he pleaded guilty to Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle, a second-degree felony. And this week, the sentence came down. 6 months in jail. 10 years of probation. 403 hours of community service. Those 403 hours were the family’s request, it was Marvin’s badge number.
