Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Monday that she would not support any move by President Donald Trump to withdraw U.S. troops from Italy, noting the decision is not hers to make but one she would personally oppose. Speaking in Yerevan, Armenia, during a European Political Community summit, she responded after Trump suggested a possible troop reduction in Italy and Spain. Meloni also said she is expected to meet U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Rome later this week for discussions that include a planned audience with Pope Leo.
