Nine people were killed and 24 others injured after fireworks stored near a church exploded during patron-saint festivities in Temascalcingo, Mexico, on September 5. The blast caused the roof of a nearby structure to collapse onto people at the site. Emergency crews from several municipalities responded, with eight victims dying at the scene and another later in hospital.
