National Guard troops stood guard as work crews began erecting perimeter fencing at the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool after administration officials said a vandal slashed hundreds of feet through its sealed bottom with a knife.
Videos showed the workers beginning on the west side of the pool before moving down its more than 2,000 foot-long perimeter.
