In a wide-ranging interview with CNN’s Kate Bolduan, Michigan Democratic Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed said Thursday that he wants to investigate Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., over staffing cuts at the FDA and CDC that he says has contributed to food recalls.
El-Sayed told Bolduan he wants to understand “the decision-making that’s gone on and what we need to do to solve the problem.” He also discussed his first priorities in the Senate, being sworn in by Vice President JD Vance, and President Trump’s nominees.
