    Dr. Fauci Is Toast: Rand Paul Pushes Contempt Charges After Fauci Takes the Fifth 111 Times

    Mark Dice nailed the moment with his “Dr. Fauci is TOAST” take above. After years of dodging real accountability, Anthony Fauci finally sat in front of Senator Rand Paul’s Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee on July 29, 2026. What followed was pure theater—and pure confirmation that the man who ran America’s COVID response has plenty to hide.

    Fauci, the former head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, showed up under subpoena. He then invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination 111 times. He refused to answer basic questions about the origins of COVID-19, U.S.-funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan, deleted emails, and whether he misled Congress and the public.

    In his opening statement, Fauci accused Paul of an “obsession” with putting him “behind bars.” He claimed the hearing was just a setup to trap him. Paul wasn’t buying it. The Kentucky senator pointed out that Fauci already received a sweeping preemptive pardon from Joe Biden in January 2025 (signed by autopen). That pardon covers actions during his government service, but it does not give him a free pass to obstruct a congressional investigation today.

    Paul told Fauci straight: the committee had rejected his privilege claim and ordered him to answer. When Fauci still refused, Paul warned him that obstructing Congress is against the law and that “there will be repercussions.” At the end of the nearly four-hour hearing, Paul announced the committee will vote next week on holding Fauci in contempt of Congress.

    Why This Matters to Everyday Americans

    For millions of people who lost jobs, businesses, loved ones, or years of their kids’ education to lockdowns and mandates, this is about basic justice. Paul has long argued that Fauci downplayed the lab-leak theory while privately knowing the Wuhan Institute of Virology was a major concern. He has also accused Fauci of lying under oath about NIH funding of risky research that can make viruses more dangerous. Emails and diaries released by Paul’s committee paint a picture of a man focused on fame and message control while Americans suffered.

    Fauci’s lawyer was even kicked out of the hearing room after interrupting. Other Republican senators piled on. Josh Hawley told Fauci the pardon means he no longer has a Fifth Amendment shield on the pardoned acts. Bernie Moreno and others expressed open frustration that the man who told Americans to “follow the science” now won’t answer for it.

    Can Rand Paul Actually Get Fauci Arrested?

    Here’s the realistic picture:

    • The committee can vote to hold Fauci in contempt. Paul has already scheduled that for next week. Now we see the Deep State once again step in to stop Paul, or we can finally get some justice. Our guess here at Whatfinger News is the Deep State will stop him from getting Fauci, as Fauci is their tool and they want to protect all of their massive scams they pulled during Covid on Americans and the world.
    • If it passes the committee, it still needs to clear the full Senate. Senate rules make this harder than in the House because of the filibuster (60 votes needed in some steps). We all know Deep State Thune who is protecting massive fraud at the ballot box for the Deep State, will never allow Fauci to be harmed in any way.
    • A successful contempt resolution can be referred to the Department of Justice for possible criminal prosecution. Criminal contempt of Congress is a real crime. People have gone to jail for it (see Peter Navarro). Civil contempt is another option that tries to force testimony. But this was already done, and the Deep State has control over the DOJ even now with Trump as POTUS
    • Paul has previously referred Fauci to the DOJ for allegedly lying to Congress. Those referrals are still out there. The Deep State laughs at us all, knowing they have all bases covered as they continue to turn the United States into a dictatorship.

    The Biden pardon protects Fauci from prosecution for many past acts, but Republicans argue it does not protect him from new obstruction charges for refusing to testify under subpoena in 2026. Courts would ultimately decide the exact legal boundaries.

    Success is not guaranteed. Senate procedure is slow and full of roadblocks. Even if the Senate acts, the Justice Department has to decide whether to prosecute. Still, the optics are terrible for Fauci. Taking the Fifth more than a hundred times after years of lecturing the country looks like guilt to a lot of Americans who watched their lives get upended.

    Rand Paul has made clear he is not dropping this. He has the subpoena power, the documents, the committee gavel, and a long paper trail. Fauci’s decision to stonewall instead of answering under oath only fuels the drive for accountability.

    The “science” Fauci once claimed to speak for is no longer above questioning. For the first time in a long time, the man who shaped the COVID response is being forced to face real consequences—or at least the beginning of them. Mark Dice’s title may not be pure hyperbole. The process is messy and slow, but the walls are closer than they’ve ever been. Now it is truly up to the Deep State and if they want to keep sticking their thumbs in our eyes knowing we now know the truth of it all. it is also up to brave Senators like Lee and Johnson as well as Rand. Will they fight and ultimately expose the Deep State’s control over the Senate and America?
