Michigan Senate Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is falling in the polls as his campaign enters a doom spiral at the most opportune time for Mike Rogers.
Abdul El-Sayed’s Lead Is Shrinking Fast as Michigan’s Senate Race Hits Its Final Stretch
Michigan’s open Senate seat is still a toss-up with less than two weeks left, and the numbers show Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s edge is getting thinner right when it matters most for Republican Mike Rogers.
A new video from Red Eagle Politics lays out the case: El-Sayed’s campaign is sliding into a tighter, more vulnerable spot just as voters lock in their choices. The RealClearPolitics average has El-Sayed up only about 2 points, roughly 48% to 46%. That is down from a 3.4-point lead earlier in the cycle. Marist’s October 15–18 poll of likely voters put him at 50% to Rogers’ 48%, inside the margin of error. Rasmussen Reports, often viewed as Republican-leaning, had him at 46% to 44% in mid-October. Most recent surveys stay in the 1- to 2-point range. One Tyson Group poll even showed Rogers ahead by 2 points. The race is within the noise of most polls, and that gives Rogers a real opening in a state Trump carried in 2024.
Abdul El-Sayed thinks that the 2nd Amendment only protects your right to own a musket…
If given power, he would vote to strip Americans of their 2nd Amendment rights.

Prediction markets still price El-Sayed as the favorite. Polymarket has him around 70% to win as of October 21, with Rogers near 30%. Those are traders betting their own money, not a scientific sample of Michigan voters. Markets can lag real voter shifts or get moved by big bets. The public polls, including from conservative-leaning firms, show a much closer contest. The two men debate tonight in Detroit for the second and final time. Their first debate earlier this month was loud and personal. They interrupted each other, argued over healthcare, tariffs, Israel, Iran, and data centers, and traded accusations about records and finances. Rogers has painted El-Sayed as too far left for a swing state. El-Sayed has tied Rogers to Trump and corporate interests. Tonight’s face-off comes with early voting already underway and Election Day on November 3.
I believe Abdul El-Sayed is Muslim Brotherhood.
If he were to win, Chuck Schumer could place him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He would have access to the very highest level of classified materials.
There would be an unacceptably high risk that the lives of American servicemen and women would be endangered, because there’s every reason to believe El-Sayed would share that classified information with Muslim Brotherhood terrorists.

El-Sayed is a former Detroit and Wayne County health director who narrowly won the Democratic primary in August over moderate Rep. Haley Stevens, 48.5% to 47.5%. Bernie Sanders and the progressive wing backed him. He has pushed Medicare for All and has drawn criticism for his past comments on Israel. If he wins, he would be the first Muslim U.S. senator. Rogers is a former House member who lost a close Senate race to Elissa Slotkin in 2024. Democrats need the seat to help flip the chamber; Republicans see it as one of their best pickup chances against a progressive nominee.
Some Democrats have privately worried about party unity after the messy primary. El-Sayed has worked to close those gaps, appearing with figures who once preferred Stevens. Still, the polling has stayed tight rather than breaking open. Trump has called El-Sayed a “Jihadist lunatic” and misstated his name in posts. El-Sayed has answered by focusing on costs at the pump and grocery store.
Michigan voters decide on November 3. The lead that looked safer a month ago is now small enough that one strong debate performance, late ad spending, or turnout edge can flip it. Check the daily numbers yourself on the Whatfinger News polls board.
