Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed kept the focus on the victims of 9/11 on the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks — after previously using the date to mourn the Muslim civilians who died in ensuing US military operations.
El-Sayed made a concerted effort to mark the occasion in a more traditional manner, leading a moment of silence at a campaign event Friday and releasing a 91-second video remembering the “cruel act of terror” and the “murder of innocent civilians” by terrorists who “attacked the idea of America.”
