Liberal woke women are not the ones who broke gaming.

The entire woke division got fired. BioWare is gone, and the pattern is clear: gamers are done with lectures in their games.
Electronic Arts shut down the legendary BioWare studio this week after more than 30 years. The team behind Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is out. About 50 people at BioWare were part of roughly 400 cuts across EA after the Saudi-led buyout. The next Mass Effect is canceled. Critics and players pointed to the same problem: the studio leaned hard into woke storytelling and lost its audience.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard (2024) was the last major release. It featured a non-binary companion named Taash and a scene where a character does push-ups to apologize for “misgendering” someone. Critics gave it decent scores around 80-plus on Metacritic. Players hammered it. User scores sat near 3–4 out of 10. EA later said the game reached about 1.5 million players—half of what the company expected. That shortfall helped drive earlier staff cuts. The politics were not the only issue, but they dominated the conversation and turned off a large part of the core audience that once loved BioWare’s older games.
BioWare, a once-major game studio, has shut down.
The last game they released was a disaster filled with LGBTQ propaganda and woke pronouns.

This is not one studio. The same pushback is hitting other titles right now.
- Gears of War: E-Day faced early negative Steam reviews calling it “woke.” Players complained about a new “girlboss” character taking focus from classic leads and about optional pride-related profile emblems. Some noted the studio used a sensitivity consultant. The game is still mostly positive overall, but the culture-war noise started before full launch.
- Hogwarts Legacy (2023) drew organized boycott calls because of J.K. Rowling’s views on sex and gender. It sold more than 12 million copies in two weeks and has now passed 40 million. The boycott failed. Players bought the game anyway.
- Black Myth: Wukong from Chinese studio Game Science became a massive hit in 2024–2025, selling tens of millions and setting Steam records. It drew some Western criticism for avoiding typical diversity checklists. The developers focused on the story and gameplay drawn from Chinese mythology. Sales did not suffer.

Gamers have said for years that they want fun, not corporate sermons. Older BioWare titles mixed romance options and moral choices without turning every cutscene into a modern lecture. Newer ones treated “representation” as the point. Sales and review scores showed the difference. Japanese and Chinese studios that skipped the Western DEI consultants kept shipping games people actually played. Western studios that leaned in kept losing money and jobs.
The pattern shows up outside games too. Disney, Target, and other big companies have quietly walked back DEI policies after customer and investor pushback. In gaming the feedback is faster and more direct because players vote with their wallets the week a game launches. When a title misses by half, the studio does not get another decade to try the same approach.
People are tired of opening a game and getting a lecture about pronouns or identity instead of dragons, guns, or a good story. BioWare’s closure is the latest and loudest example. The money went to the studios that still make games people want to play.
Mario Nawfal: MAKE VIDEO GAMES GREAT AGAIN: TIME TO KICK WOKENESS OUT OF GAMING! The gaming world is under siege by political correctness and “woke” agendas, diluting the fun and creativity that make games great. Major franchises are shoehorning diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) themes, often at the expense of storytelling and gameplay. This forced inclusivity is not only unnecessary but also alienates the core gaming community. Gamers seek immersive experiences and engaging narratives, not lectures on social issues. It’s time to reclaim gaming as a space for entertainment and creativity, free from political agendas. Let’s make video games great again by focusing on what truly matters: fun, innovation, and player engagement. Source: NY Post, X – Post on X
