He is a former academic physician who left chemotherapy research and now pushes regenerative agriculture through Farmer’s Footprint. On July 22, 2026, he told Rogan the same chemical that clears weeds is acting like an antibiotic on soil microbes and on the mitochondria inside human cells. Allergies, autoimmunity, neurological trouble, and fertility damage, in his telling, are downstream of that energy collapse. Then the conversation moved to pesticides and PFAS “forever chemicals” riding in on food and water.

The official numbers do not need Bush’s theory to look bad. They already do.

The under-50 wave is real

CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System put the 2023 picture in writing. Among adults 18 to 34, 59.5 percent now report at least one chronic condition, up from 52.5 percent in 2013. That is 43.7 million young adults. Multiple conditions rose from 21.8 percent to 27.1 percent. Depression in the same age band jumped from 16.4 percent to 25.0 percent. Obesity went from 22.1 percent to 27.3 percent.

Across all U.S. adults, 76.4 percent now carry at least one chronic condition. The young cohort is the group that used to be the healthy baseline. It is not.

American Cancer Society tracking has also flipped an old rule. Colorectal cancer, long treated as an older patient’s disease, is now the leading cause of cancer death for Americans under 50.

Bush’s slide on the podcast stacked obesity, diabetes, allergy, autoimmunity, ADHD and autism, cancer, infertility, and “gender dysregulation” on a curve that climbs with glyphosate use after the mid-1970s. Correlation is not a courtroom verdict. The disease curve itself is not a rumor. We are being poisoned for the mansions of Big Pharma executives, and their limos. Plus Democrat politicians as well as their RINO allies who are all well paid (off).

The spray load

Glyphosate is the active ingredient in Roundup. Charles Benbrook’s peer-reviewed U.S. series, built on NASS and EPA reports, shows 1.4 million pounds used in 1974. By 2014 the country was at 276 million pounds. EPA later put average agricultural use at about 280 million pounds a year on 298 million acres (2013–2018). Another 21 million pounds goes on yards, roads, forestry, and parks. We are poisoning ourselves in ever increasing doses.

Global use rose almost 15-fold after Roundup Ready crops hit in 1996. Soy, corn, and cotton eat most of the U.S. total. On the show Bush used a still-higher worldwide figure, 3 to 4 billion pounds a year. Treat that as his number. The federal farm number is already 200 times the 1974 load. Dave Asprey has quote a few vids attacking Roundup. As do many health gurus. But these gurus do not have the resources of Big Pharma, whose money makes the policy to allow what is happening to the American people.

EPA and EFSA still call dietary residues safe at current limits. IARC listed glyphosate as “probably carcinogenic to humans” in 2015. Bayer, which bought Monsanto, has spent years in Roundup cancer court. Readers can hold both facts at once: the regulator signed off, and the lawsuit machine never went quiet.

Bush’s mechanistic claim is sharper than the cancer fight. He says glyphosate chelates minerals, hits a bacterial pathway shared by gut microbes, and knocks down ATP production in mitochondria. On the podcast he described a collapse of cellular energy at residue levels common in chemically farmed food. That specific ATP demo is his presentation, not an FDA monograph. What is documented, independent of his slide deck, is microbiome disruption as a live research field in metabolic, autoimmune, and neurological disease.

Forever chemicals came along for the ride

Rogan and Bush also put PFAS on the table. These compounds persist in soil, water, and human blood. CDC’s NHANES program has measured them since 1999. ATSDR’s plain line: most people in the United States have been exposed and have PFAS in their blood. A 2025 NHANES analysis found four or more legacy PFAS still detectable in more than 96 percent of people through March 2020, including teenagers born after the big phase-outs of PFOA and PFOS. Some of those two legacy chemicals did fall. The class did not leave the bloodstream.

Fertility is already below replacement

Bush told Rogan the damage reaches reproduction. The demographic file is public.

UN World Population Prospects 2024 puts 99 of 194 countries below the 2.1 replacement rate. The U.S. sits near 1.62 births per woman. The world average is 2.25 and is projected to cross under 2.1 in the late 2030s.

Sperm followed the same direction. Levine’s 2022 update in Human Reproduction Update estimated a 51.6 percent drop in sperm concentration among unselected men from 1973 to 2018, across continents. Total sperm count in that group fell an estimated 62.3 percent. Housing costs, delayed marriage, and screens are in the mix. So is a chemical environment that did not exist when those 1973 samples were taken.

What Dr. Bush wants done

His fix is regenerative farming: living soil, fewer synthetic inputs, food that still carries a microbiome. He talks about reconnecting human biology to dirt instead of treating the body like a machine that can be patched with another drug. Rogan flagged the economic trap in the same hour. Pull glyphosate out of a system built around it and a lot of acreage and balance sheets break. That is the policy fight. It is also an admission that the grocery aisle now depends on a herbicide. Why cater to the Big Pharma execs who are poisoning us? Well – they pay off media and the Democrat Party to keep their poisons legal. Which means, Democrats and their RINO allies are co-conspirators. One day, perhaps if things were to blow, maybe they will not like what happens.

Nobody needs a lab coat to change the cart. Buy organic or regeneratively grown grain when you can. Filter water. Cut the ultra-processed stack that concentrates residues. That is not a sermon. It is the part of the episode a household can act on before Washington moves an inch.

If this many people are getting sick before 50, the question from the original post still stands. What are we eating, spraying, and drinking every day?
