Steve Kerrigan, the leader of the Massachusetts Democratic Party was arrested during a traffic stop on alleged drunk driving charges last month. Days later Kerrigan admitted to prosecutors there were sufficient facts to support a conviction, according to state court records. Bodycam video shows Kerrigan performing field sobriety providing a breath sample that registered a 0.089% blood alcohol content, above Massachusetts’ legal limit of 0.08%.
The judge sentenced Kerrigan to a year’s probation, suspended his driver’s license for 45 days, ordered him to pay $600 in fees and required him to complete an impaired driving education program.
