On April 17, displaced Lebanese families were welcomed home to victory signs as they drove into Qasmiveh following a 10-day ceasefire with Israel. The ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel went into effect April 16, raising hopes that the broader conflict could wind down. President Donald Trump also signaled a possible U.S.–Iran meeting , further boosting expectations of de-escalation.
