Today, I am incredibly excited to introduce a class that gives us an awe-inspiring, literal, and sobering look at the climax of world history. If you want to understand the stunning power of our returning King and the ultimate fulfillment of Bible prophecy, you absolutely must join us for this lesson. Here are the three life-changing truths we will unpack together:
1. The Warrior King: Treading the Winepress of Wrath
Scripture References: Isaiah 63.
Summary of What’s Covered: We kick off the class by looking at a staggering vision from Isaiah 63. Isaiah sees Jesus headed from Edom and Bozrah toward Megiddo, wearing apparel that is dyed deep red. Jesus explains that He has trodden the winepress of God’s wrath alone, trampling His enemies in His fury, and their blood is sprinkled on His garments. We will learn that just as King David was considered a "man of blood" because of his decades of close-up, hand-to-hand combat fighting God’s enemies, Jesus Christ is returning as a mighty warrior, splattered in battle as He comes to save His people.
2. The Final Siege: Satan’s Desperate Stand at Jerusalem
Scripture References: Zechariah 12-14.
Summary of What’s Covered: Next, we explore the terrifying siege of Jerusalem. Satan, indwelling the Antichrist, knows that God’s eternal promises to sit on the throne of David rest entirely on the survival of the Jewish people. In a final, desperate attempt to thwart God’s plan, he gathers all the armies of the world to surround Jerusalem and exterminate the Jews. It will be a horrific time where two-thirds of the people are slain, but right when all hope seems lost, the surviving remnant will look up to heaven and cry out, "Save us!". We will see how that desperate cry from the Jewish people is the exact trigger for the Second Coming of their true Messiah.
3. The Consuming Touchdown: Melted Enemies and the Split Mountain
Scripture References: Zechariah 14:4.
Summary of What’s Covered: Finally, we witness the terrifying and majestic rescue of God’s people. Jesus swoops in, and with a supernatural plague, He strikes the armies fighting against God. Instantly, their flesh, eyes, and tongues will literally dissolve while they are still standing on their feet. The Lord will then keep going until His feet physically touch down on the Mount of Olives. The sheer impact of His glorious arrival will split the mountain in two from east to west, transforming the geography of the earth and unleashing a flow of living waters from Jerusalem. It is an event so certain that the prophet Zechariah—and 150,000 other Jewish people—chose to be buried right there on the Mount of Olives, waiting to witness the Lord’s return.
