Surveillance footage showed people attempting to flee seconds before a devastating mudslide engulfed the border crossing between Nepal and China on August 26th. Chinese President Xi Jinping urged “all-out” search efforts for the missing people, as well as a stronger system for monitoring and early warning systems to prevent secondary disasters.
