A Russian strike on the Academy of Sciences building in central Kyiv left one person dead and injured four others on Monday, September 28, with wider strikes across the capital injuring a total of 19 people, including three children. Footage captured smoke and flames engulfing the upper floors as trapped occupants climbed out onto the facade and shattered windows to escape the fire. First responders and rescuers quickly deployed ladders to evacuate survivors and treat the wounded.
