Migration: Significant drop in number of people coming from abroad

There’s been a significant drop in the number of people coming from abroad to work or study in the UK.

Home Office data shows 31,493 people arrived by small boats in the 12 months to June 2024. That’s 29% fewer than the 44,460 who made crossings by June 2023.
