Michael Desronvil, the lone juror who refused to find Lindsay Clancy not criminally responsible for killing her three children, has directly contradicted claims made by fellow jurors after the mistrial. Through a statement released by his attorney, Desronvil said he “didn’t have any doubts” and believed the physical evidence, witness testimony and prosecution case showed that Clancy knew what she was doing and planned the killings. That disputes jury foreperson Roni Carlson’s public assertion that he admitted having reasonable doubt but still refused to acquit. Desronvil said he was repeatedly cut off while trying to explain possible theories during deliberations, which others misinterpreted as uncertainty. A separate interviewer, Ray Marcel, said Desronvil had considered Clancy guilty from the beginning and believed she was sane when she acted. Desronvil’s lawyer has now said he will not grant further interviews, citing threats and harassment. The competing accounts cannot be independently resolved because jury deliberations were private. The trial ended in an 11–1 deadlock, and prosecutors have not announced whether Clancy will be retried.
