A high-level Iranian delegation arrived in Zurich on June 20 for peace talks with the United States, led by chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance also traveled to Switzerland, saying he hoped to make progress on the Iran nuclear issue and the Lebanon ceasefire.
The talks come amid a 60-day ceasefire agreement between Washington and Tehran, though tensions remain high after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz ahead of the negotiations.
