The DOJ announced sweeping charges against former Cuban leader Raul Castro for the 1996 Brothers to the Rescue shootdown that killed four Americans, marking the first time senior Cuban regime officials have faced US criminal charges tied to the deaths of US citizens. Castro and five others were indicted on murder, conspiracy and aircraft destruction charges nearly 30 years after the attack.
