Terrifying Twist In Six Flags Roller Coaster Death

A horrifying Six Flags death has taken an even darker turn. Police say 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem was thrown from his seat on the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, struck other patrons and then fell beneath the ride. Witnesses described seeing him come straight out of the coaster as it passed over a hill near the end of its run.
Investigators have not yet explained how Kariem became separated from his seat or whether a restraint failed. Six Flags temporarily closed nine similar roller coasters across six parks “out of an abundance of caution,” while Georgia safety officials and major-crimes detectives investigate. Several other guests were reportedly injured, and the incident arrives just weeks after separate lawsuits alleged serious brain injuries on another Six Flags coaster.
