The City of Long Beach, California is $60 million in debt “Investigates obtained through a public records request show Quality Fence out of Paramount was hired to build 261 feet of galvanized steel fencing with eight swing gates or doors. The original contract was about $398,000. A later change order increased the height, and that increased the price to roughly $419,000. So what accounts for the remaining $371,436.80?” The city is trying to say there was things like planning fees but they haven’t released any details showing a breakdown of costs…. (Translation: they’re lying) Other Long Beach leaders in the homeless department say they shouldn’t have spent $800,000 on a fence because they could have housed 10 people for 1 year with that money I’m not kidding, they really said that… “Leaders saying that the nearly $800,000 fencing project fails to center a commitment to providing shelter, adding the same amount of money would have sheltered a minimum of 10 people a year.” Ohh and while the city is $60 million in debt and raising taxes, they approved millions for a new LGBTQ+ district You don’t hate these people enough
