John Barnett here, and welcome to our study of Acts chapter 13! My wonderful wife, Bonnie, is right here in our studio operating the cameras and praying me through. This class serves as your urgent battlefield manual for standing firm in a dark, decaying culture. If you are ready to trade secular anxiety for supernatural power, this study will completely and radically transform your daily walk.
Here are three life-altering pillars we will uncover together:
The Antioch Purity Paradigm: Antioch was the third-largest city in the Roman Empire, infamous as a "perpetual festival of vice". Yet, God chose this corrupt hub to launch His global mission through a racially and socioeconomically diverse team. Purity begins with a mental choice. Through the essential disciplines of prayer (needing God) and fasting (denying self), you will learn to reschedule your life with God at the center. We challenge you to adopt the holy habit: "No Bible, no breakfast; no Bible, no internet!"
The Shield of the Cosmic Campaign: On the island of Cyprus, Paul confronted the demonic sorcerer Elymas, who tried to block the salvation of the Roman proconsul Sergius Paulus. We must realize we are locked in a real cosmic war. This class will expose Satan’s active strategies—from roaring lion distractions to deceptive snares—and show you how to wear the spiritual armor and wield the Sword of the Spirit to stand victorious.
The Glorious Justification Exchange: In Pisidian Antioch, Paul preached his longest recorded sermon, declaring the breathtaking doctrine of justification. Justification is the ultimate legal transfer: all of your sins are permanently placed on Christ, and His perfect righteousness is credited to you. This glorious grace frees you to serve your own generation by the will of God.
Your Transformation Step: Commit to the Daily Devotional Journaling Method. Open your physical Bible, read the text, write down lessons, and pray a prayer of surrender. Pack a 10-cent Gospel tract next to your devices to stay alert for "divine appointments". Let’s go!
