President Trump said Monday that he’s open to a healthcare deal with Senate Democrats to end the ongoing partial government shutdown.
"The Democrats are the ones that started this. And if you think about it, it’s about health care to a large extent," Trump said of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s demand for continued enhanced subsidies for about 22 million people with Obamacare, currently due to expire Dec. 31.
"We have a negotiation going on right now with the Democrats that could lead to very good things. And I’m talking about good things with regard to healthcare," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.
