Syria hit the polls for the first time since Bashar al-Assad’s downfall, as thousands of voters turned out to cast ballots in a historic parliamentary election. Footage from Damascus showed long lines at the National Library Center, where Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa made an appearance to oversee the vote and rally citizens.
