The US House of Representatives passed a bill that would bar universities participating in boycotts of Israel from receiving certain federal funds. The measure, which also requires certifications on student access to programmes in Israel, passed by 237 votes to 169, and now moves to the Senate. For it to become law, the Senate would need to pass it, and the president would then need to sign it into law.
