A prankster thought it would be funny to approach a Red Baron delivery worker stocking pizzas, play a fake Apple Pay sound and claim he had stolen $10. Walt was already exhausted, late getting home, supporting four children and worried about his mortgage—and his very real reaction struck a nerve. The internet decided this hardworking dad wasn’t going to be the punchline. His GoFundMe has now passed $512,000 from more than 15,000 donations, and the campaign directly lists Walt Z as its beneficiary.
The latest update is that online reporting has identified the man behind the prank as Carter Robert Porter, who used the names thea.ctiveworld and ThreeOfAKind. The account associated with the original clip appears to have disappeared, while Red Baron publicly said Walt is still employed and has a fan club “including us.” This is an identification—not a report that Porter was arrested or charged over the incident. What began as a cruel clout-chasing stunt left the worker supported, the alleged creator exposed and the prankster’s own audience firmly on Walt’s side.
