Brazilian stocks plunged more than 18% after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won a surprise runoff victory over right-wing challenger Flávio Bolsonaro.

The result reversed a rally that began earlier this month when Bolsonaro took an unexpected first-round lead.
