A Singapore-flagged container ship carrying more than 2,500 containers sank in the Strait of Hormuz after it caught fire and was struck. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are openly claiming they hit five or six ships every night that try to move without their permission. These animals are attacking all nations and seem to think the world respects their actions.
The GFS Pride went down south of the strait. All 21 crew members got off safely. A second Singapore container ship, GFS Giselle, took hull damage the same day but made it to an anchorage under its own power. UK Maritime Trade Operations and other tracking sources show the attacks have jumped. At least 18 to 24 vessels were hit in the first two weeks of October. Six went down on one Sunday alone.

The October surge in one view. Sources: UKMTO, Kpler, IRGC statements, gCaptain.
These are not selective hits on American-flagged hulls. Singapore containers, Panama and Marshall Islands tankers, Thai bulk carriers, Japanese ships, and Gulf operators are all taking fire. Projectiles, drones, and mines. The IRGC has pushed the shooting beyond the narrow strait into the Gulf of Oman and waters near Qatar and the UAE. Iran has declared war on the world, and they are now considered a virus all over the world, except in the US and Western media. These news outlets detest Trump more than Iran, and their fake news stories reflect this daily. We point it all out here at Whatfinger News.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s supreme national security council, said on state television that Iran targets five or six of these vessels every night and that Hormuz is under the control of the Islamic Republic. Iranian officials describe the US-UAE shuttle system—smaller ships loading oil then transferring it to larger tankers outside the strait—as smuggling. They say any ship that uses an unauthorized route will be pursued across the region.

Iran’s claim of control versus the flags actually being hit.
The war that opened with US and Israeli strikes on February 28 never fully opened the waterway. Oil that used to move at 17 to 20 million barrels a day is running lower and more volatile. Recent Kpler numbers put confirmed flows through the strait in the 8 to 10 million barrel range on many days, with big swings when the attacks pick up. Bypass pipelines and ship-to-ship transfers have kept some crude moving, but the nightly hits are designed to keep the risk high and the price elevated heading into the US midterms.
US Central Command has rejected the Iranian claim of control. American forces maintain a blockade on Iranian ports, keep carriers and destroyers in the area, and have run escort and overwatch missions under Project Freedom and follow-on efforts. CENTCOM has said it helped move more than 19 million barrels through the chokepoint on a single day. The Navy intercepts drones and missiles when it can. The southern corridor near Oman remains the practical route for most of the traffic that still moves.
Saudi Arabia has leaned on its East-West pipeline to get crude to the Red Sea when Hormuz is too hot. The UAE has been the most active partner in the shuttle transfers. Both kingdoms have joined US and other statements calling for free navigation without Iranian tolls or permission slips. Saudi forces have also struck Iran-linked targets in Iraq, while the Houthis complicate the Red Sea side of the same problem.

Who is still trying to move the oil while the IRGC keeps the night shift busy.
The container ship on the bottom of the strait is the clearest picture yet. Iran is not distinguishing between nations. Any vessel that tries to treat the Gulf as an open waterway is a target. The US, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the shipping companies that still run the route are the ones still trying to keep the oil moving. The sooner this outlaw Islamic regime is gone from this world, the better.
