Marcos Charles, Executive Associate Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, defended the shooting of an alleged gang member in New York, saying the man rammed two government vehicles and “weaponized” his car by accelerating toward officers attempting to arrest him. Charles said the man was wounded in the neck, taken into custody and later moved to a detention facility outside New York as authorities pursue charges and removal proceedings.
