President Trump announced plans by Mesabi Metallics to build a $15 billion fully integrated steel plant in Iowa, slated to be the largest in U.S. history. Touting the project in the Oval Office, Trump credited his administration’s tariffs for driving domestic manufacturing growth. The facility is projected to utilize Minnesota iron ore, produce millions of tons of steel annually, and generate thousands of construction and permanent jobs ahead of the November midterm elections.
