An Indonesian passenger ferry carrying 271 people caught fire at sea, triggering a major rescue operation off the coast of Java. The Mutiara Sentosa 2 ferry was traveling from Surabaya to Makassar when flames broke out, leaving at least five people dead and 41 others missing. Nearby vessels rescued 225 passengers and crew members as authorities investigated the cause of the blaze.
