Disturbing new video has emerged, revealing the moment an alleged Venezuelan gang took control of an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. The footage, which surfaced on Wednesday, shows a heavily-armed group forcibly entering the building, brandishing firearms. A man in a hoodie, carrying a high-powered rifle, is seen aggressively knocking on a door, while others are armed with pistols.
“A GANG HAS TAKEN OVER several apartment complexes in Aurora!” tweeted local council member Danielle Jurinsky. While authorities have not confirmed if the assailants are affiliated with the notorious Tren de Aragua cartel, Jurinsky told Fox 31 that a Venezuelan gang has effectively seized the building.

“This isn’t just about Americans. Even Venezuelans are being extorted by this gang,” Jurinsky stated.
This footage has surfaced amid an escalating migrant crisis under Vice President Kamala Harris, who is overseeing border issues. The Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang has reportedly established presences in multiple U.S. locations, including Colorado. The video shows gang members rushing up a stairwell with weapons, communicating in Spanish.
At the video’s conclusion, the door to an apartment opens, and the gang members enter. It remains unclear if anyone inside was harmed. The couple who recorded the video told Fox 31 that it was captured shortly before a shootout occurred at the complex, resulting in one person sustaining serious injuries and several vehicles being damaged.
Cindy and Edward Romero, the couple who filmed the footage, decided to move out on Wednesday due to safety fears. “It’s been terrifying, and I can’t wait to leave,” Cindy Romero expressed to Fox while packing up.

Their apartment featured a complex locking system, stretching from the top to the bottom of the door. “Every time we leave to throw out the trash or go to bed at night, we have to secure it like this to prevent anyone from kicking the door in,” Cindy Romero demonstrated.
Earlier this month, after a shootout at the complex, the Romeros’ vehicle was hit by bullets. Councilmember Jurinsky helped the Romeros relocate to a safer home. “While city nonprofits are helping migrants who have recently arrived, no one is aiding the Americans trapped in these complexes,” Jurinsky told Fox.
Commenting on the surge of violence at the apartment complex, she said, “It all began with a gang takeover.”
Aurora has been plagued by continuous violence since the arrival of the Tren de Aragua gang. On Wednesday, the Aurora Police Department confirmed they are investigating the chilling footage of the apartment takeover.

Authorities announced the formation of a special task force in collaboration with local, state, and federal partners to specifically address concerns about the Tren de Aragua and other criminal activities. Police confirmed they are “aware of TdA elements operating in Aurora” and have been “collecting evidence linking the gang to crimes in the region.”
The rise in crime linked to migrants has brought increased attention to the worsening situation at the border. Under the Biden-Harris administration, illegal crossings into the U.S. have soared to 8 million, with expectations that this number will reach 10 million by the end of September. In 2021, Vice President Harris was assigned to manage the flow of illegal immigration as the so-called ‘border czar.’
