THE GOOGLE SEARCH ON THE SUBWAY (Romans 15:13) After reluctantly uploading a recording of this brief message to YouTube, the video was discovered six months later by a 60-year-old woman riding the subway (the "tube") in London. Having spent her entire life attending concerts just to get "smashed, plastered, and laid," she felt entirely empty and hopeless. Sitting on the train, she typed "Hope in God" into Google, found John’s video, and literally reached her hand up into the air right there on the subway to surrender her life to Christ.
4. TRASHING THE TROPHIES OF SIN (2 Corinthians 5:17) True salvation always produces a radical change. Declaring herself a "new creation in Christ," this woman went home and looked at her prized collection of original vintage record jackets from bands like the Beatles, Queen, and the Rolling Stones. Recognizing them as "memorials to sin," she refused to sell them on eBay; instead, she threw the entire valuable collection straight into the dumpster (the "bin").
THE BOTTOM LINE: BECOME A FIRE HYDRANT OF HOPE This incredible testimony proves that God is the God of hope, and the world is desperately hungry for the truth. He leaves us here on earth to be like a fire hydrant, spraying out the good news of salvation to a desperate, dying world.
